Choirs at Holy Family Utawala Parish
About Us:
Holy Family Utawala Parish is honored to host six dynamic choirs, each dedicated to animating the Holy Mass. Our choirs enhance the liturgical celebration by providing music that fosters full participation from the congregation and deepens engagement with the Eucharist.
Choir Distribution:
Our choirs are divided between the Holy Family Utawala Center and the outstation, St. Patrick Mavoko Center, as follows:
Holy Family Utawala Center:
- St. Romanos Choir: Supports and enriches the liturgical experience with music that fosters deeper participation.
- St. Nicetas of Remesiana Choir: Engages the congregation and facilitates meaningful participation.
- St. Victoriano Pio Choir: A youth choir that animates the Mass with energetic performances, involving younger members.
Outstation (St. Patrick Mavoko Center):
- St. Patrick Choir: Enhances the worship experience with music that promotes active involvement.
- St. Joseph the Worker Choir: Inspires deeper engagement in the liturgical celebration with its musical contributions.
- St. Yves Choir: A youth choir that brings joy and enthusiasm to the Mass, encouraging active participation.
Total Choir Membership: 273 members
Rehearsals:
Each choir holds rehearsals from Monday to Saturday, in the evening from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the church hall. Please consult with individual choir moderators for specific rehearsal days.
Membership:
Anyone baptized Catholic and a member of a Small Christian Community is welcome to join the choir. New members undergo a six-month probationary period, after which they are formally commissioned as choir members.
Special Activities:
Our choirs participate in various activities throughout the year, including:
– Recollection: Spiritual retreats to deepen faith and enhance musical ministry.
– Formation Seminars: Educational sessions to develop choir members’ skills and knowledge.
– Leaders Workshops: Training for choir leaders to improve leadership and organizational skills.
– Trainers Workshops: Sessions focused on refining the techniques of choir trainers.
– Commissioning and Renewal of Choir Members: Ceremonies to commission and renew the commitment of choir members.
– Christmas Carols: Special performances during the Christmas season that bring festive cheer to our community.
Special Events:
Our choirs regularly perform at Sunday services and participate in special liturgical events throughout the year, including Christmas Eve, Easter services, parish festivals, and more. Please stay tuned to our parish announcements for details about upcoming performances.
